NURY CASTILLO CRAWFORD
Nury Castillo Crawford is the mother of three sons, a life-long educator, President of the Georgia Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents, CEO and Founder of 1010 Publishing and a published author. She was born in Peru, South America and emigrated to the United States with her family when she was ten years old.
Nury attained a B.S. and M.S. degrees from Florida A&M University. Education is her passion and she feels privileged to support children grow academically, emotionally and socially.
In addition, Nury is a powerful voice and advocate for parental involvement, but more importantly parental empowerment. She engages with both parents and educators on how to approach delicate relationships dynamics. She works diligently to be a bridge between schools and families. She is an advocate for the correlation between language and culture.
Lynnette Aponte is the Community Outreach Specialist at Meadowcreek High School. In her role, she is responsible for building relationships between the school, the business community, parents, and community organizations, while maintaining strong educational partnerships for continued support and sustainability of Meadowcreek High School.
She has over 15 years of experience working in the field of education as a teacher, Parent Instructional Support Coordinator, Title III Adolescent Outreach Specialist, Assistant Principal & Community Outreach Specialist. Prior to working in the school system, she worked for several non-profit organizations in the areas of program development and fundraising. Her experiences over the last 25 years have provided her with a great deal of knowledge regarding the variables that impact both student achievement and community involvement at our schools. She hopes to impact the educational experiences of our students and their families by building partnerships with businesses and the community as a whole.
Ms. Aponte has a specialist degree in educational leadership from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University and a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. She is a 2016 graduate of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Hispanic Leadership Institute and a 2001 graduate of Leadership Atlanta.
Angelica Rosso works for the Dekalb County School District as the Title I Family Engagement Facilitator. She educate parents on how to prepare their children for academic success and also how to become advocates for their children when it pertains to their children's education. She got involved with GALAS, because she believe every child should have equal opportunities when it comes to education.

Janet E. Sevilla has over 12+ years of experience in the sports philanthropy sector and responsible for ensuring that sports teams and professional athletes utilize their platform to address critical social issues that impact their communities.
She spent seven seasons with the LA Galaxy and one season with the LA Lakers, designing and executing events, outreach programs, and lucrative fundraising initiatives that benefited the local Los Angeles community.
Currently, Janet is the Community Affairs Manager for the Atlanta Braves and oversees a team whose focus is to utilize sports to create change in the areas of education, health/wellness, and youth baseball while honoring community and military members, and fundraising for the Atlanta Braves Foundation. In 2017, Janet created “Los Bravos En La Communidad” the community platform dedicated to supporting and connecting with the Spanish language community and strengthen the team’s relationship with the Latino community across the Southeast.
Raised in Los Angeles, California, Janet obtained her B.A. from UC Santa Barbara, with a major in Black Studies and Spanish and a minor in Sports Management. She is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Cultivating Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI). Janet currently serves on the board of WISE (Women In Sports + Events) Atlanta, Villages of Carver Family YMCA, and on the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce – EME Advisory Committee and a HYPE member.
